Here is a bio about the band from members Frank Heath and Rocky Gillespie:
"Mandown was formed in 1996 by Frank Heath, Rocky Gillespie and Joel Jaqubino. We were based out of Decatur and Huntsville.
Joel had just moved from Southern California and met Rocky through mutual friends. After talking, they
decided to get together and jam. (Joel was previously in The Eradicks back in California and
Rocky had just been a member, with Frank, in Slip, who had just recently broken up)
After practicing a few times they decided to take this a little more seriously. Drummers were always hard
to find, so Rocky made the decision to switch from guitar to drums. Always knowing Frank was up for a new band
Rocky gave him a call. Living in Atlanta at the time Frank decided to move back to Bama. Now just needing a bassist
Jimmy Simpson was the final piece to the puzzle (although we did have a couple bassists during Mandowns life).
Mandown played regularly in the Southeast and did a short tour with our friends in Bear Witness. We broke up after
released November 1, 1996
