Bio of Eighth Day from guitarist Jon Burkart:
"Eighth Day was a mostly high school pop-punk band started by Andre Villanueva, Jason Vahle, and John Burkart. We eventually found Brad Reed to complete the project on drums. Shortly after joining, Brad encouraged the band to let Laura Hendrix audition. The band played lots of shows with two singers, Jason and Laura. Eventually, Jason left and Laura was the main vocalist. The band began with Andre on guitar and John on bass. After Laura joined, Andre and John began switching instruments on half of the songs. After awhile Andre left and Keith O’Neal came in on bass. John and Keith were already playing together in a hardcore band called A Common Thread. All in all, the band recorded two demos and two songs that ended up on compilations. Band influences included: Jawbreaker, Jawbox, Crimpshrine, Fugazi, Descendants, Propagandhi, Fuel, J Church, etc. John and Brad went on to form Crackbaby Jesus and, later, the bands Alan Ogg and Inhuman Race. Laura went on to sing for Caroline Blue and Red Mountain Family Band. Brad is currently in Stoned Cobra and Inhuman Race (with John)."
