This free digital download is part of the Alabama Hardcore & Punk Archival Project launched by Best of Times Records and was originally released in late 1997/early 1998 on These Trying Days Records.
From formal vocalist Jason Wasserman:
"Caption was a Birmingham hardcore band in the late 1990s/early 2000s. Our first EP came out in 1998. It was both engineered and produced by Frank Heath who later sang for the band, and released on his label called "These Trying Days Records." The original line included Jason Walker (drums), Terry Jacks (guitar), Chad Hubbard (guitar), Mike Petras (bass), and Jason Wasserman (vocals). Jason Walker left the band after only a few shows to move to Denver, and as replaced by George Brown on drums. Tommy Whitley replaced Petras on bass shortly before the first EP, "Emotions to Sever" was recorded. We played with bands such as Morning Again, Bound, Downpour, Turmoil, and Catharsis along with numerous local bands, and had one relatively unsuccessful tour that reached as far north as Massachusetts. Wasserman was later replaced by Frank Heath on vocals and Whitley was replaced by Jason Neely on bass. Caption recorded another EP with that line-up.
Jason Walker who also played in Birmingham's Bear Witness, went on to play with Angels Never Answer in Denver.
Jason Wasserman went on to play in None But Burning, and briefly in A Common Thread. George Brown played in numerous Birmingham bands, including Mephotis."
Special thanks to Jason Wasserman, Terry Jacks and Ana Gorupic for their contributions in archiving this release.
